Technical Information.....how to take good pictures.......
All pictures on this website were taken with an Olympus C3030Z.

This camera is just about the best camera one can buy. It has all the features you will ever need including movies. It has a maximum resolution of 3.3 mega pixels. More than you will need for taking excellent pictures for websites and color prints. I've seen this two year old camera on Ebay for about $350.00. I paid over $900 new back two years ago. Don't be fooled by purchasing a camera with more mega pixel resolution. Unless you're planning on making posters, you will never need it. All pictures on this site have been re-canvassed and "slightly degraded" in order to hasten downloads to your computer if you are using a dial-up ISP connection. This will also reduce storage usage on your web server.
A USB interface cable will allow you to download your camera images to your computer. A good picture editing software program or programs are necessary to clean up your pictures, adjust contrast, crop, re-size and convert to the proper format for your application. I use Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Painter 5.5. For web pictures you must save your pictures as JPEG files, with the extension .jpg. Pictures should be reduced to no more than 80 kilobytes in order to save storage space and download time.
I use Shutterfly to make color prints.
